Moving Towards Sustainability

Livestock are important assets for vulnerable communities which contribute to poverty reduction, sustainability of food, income, and as a store of wealth – safety net – in times of need. To increase the resilience of severely food insecure families, RDP, in partnership with Hoffnungszeichen, provides livestock to women-headed households of crisis-affected IDPs within the emergency food security and livelihood project in Bajil district of Al-Hudaydah governorate. During October, RDP supported 23 displaced HHs headed by women with a flock of sheep (69 rams, ewes, and lambs), built barns to protect the livestock, and brought tones of fodder to feed the livestock for three months.
