Feasibility Study on Water Resources and Water Scheme Surveillance in Khairan Al-Muharraq District

Khairan Al Muharraq district in Hajjah Governorate and Al Qafr district in Ibb Governorate are both considered as the most affected areas where a massive number of IDPs and affected host communities are found. They are classified as IPC phase 4 and 5, with the highest displacement ratio.

Khairan Al Muharraq is one among the 122 WASH cluster focus districts and among the 193 food insecure districts while Al Qafr is one among the 230 health cluster focus districts and among the 122 WASH cluster focus districts.

Funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF), RDP is implementing the Integrated Emergency Response Project in Al-Qafr district, Ibb Governorate and Khiran Al-Muharraq district of Hajjah Governorate. The WaSH sector is benefitting 7,500 individuals from water schemes rehabilitation, construction/ rehabilitation/ dislodging latrines of HHs with SAM cases, awareness session, and cleaning campaigns in Khiran Al-Muharraq District.

During June, 2019, our consultant has completed the feasibility study on water resources to ensure that Al-Maklowda Well needs to be rehabilitated, he also has done water tests to measure the quality of the wells in the targeted area and to find out which one matches the high standards of being potable water.
