Urgent scale-up of emergency WASH flood-response preparedness activities for IDPs and vulnerable host communities in Hajjah and Hodeidah governorates.
Objective:
The project aims to reduce the adverse effects of the floods on IDPs and vulnerable host communities in high-risk areas in Hajjah and Hodeida governorates and increasing their access to safe water, appropriate sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion services through WASH preparedness and life-saving response activities.
RDP improved access to adequate safe water, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion for flood-affected people where the beneficiaries reached 38,549 individuals in Hajjah and Al-Hudeidah Gov.

Major project activities:
- Conducted community engagement meeting.
- Conducted induction workshop for the project team.
- Conduct tenders for the project activities.
- Contract with service providers for water trucking, BHKs, and latrines.
- Distributed a total quantity of 6,115,500 liters of clean, safe, and chlorinated water was provided to floods-affected locations.
- Installed 28 communal water tanks in flood-affected IDPs sites targeted locations.
- Also, RDP conducted minor maintenance for 44 communal water points.
- RDP trained 60 community volunteers (43 Men and 17 Women) on Hygiene promotion.
- Community volunteers have conducted 793 awareness sessions reaching 12,139 individuals through hygiene promotion.
- RDP distributed 1750 BHKs to 1750 HHs of flood-affected BNFs in the targeted districts.
- Conduct PDM after distribution of BHKs.
- Construction of 83 emergency latrines (including 10 latrines for PwSNs) and 150 latrines were rehabilitated in targeted locations
- Conduct PCM after construction and rehabilitation of latrines
- Improved community environment by conducting 10 clean-up campaigns, benefiting 21,689 individuals.
