Emergency response for Food Security and Livelihood Project in IDPs site in Al Marawi’ah District of Al Hudaydah governorate, Yemen

Objective:

Improved food security and livelihoods for 130 HHs of IDPs families, in Al Marawi’ah District in Al Hudaydah Governorate. 100 IDPs HHs (700 individuals) were provided with unconditional food assistance through vouchers for three consecutive months/rounds, and 30 IDPs HHs headed by women and marginalized groups and people with disabilities have improved technical skills and increased access to new source of income through providing 15 HHs with livestock packages and providing 15 HHs with In-kind start-up grants accompanied with vocational/on-job trainings that improve technical and life skills.

Major project activities:

1.Community enagagment meeting with stakeholders and beneficiries.

2. Registration and verification of 100 IDPs HHs for food vouchers distribution.

3.  Registration and verification of 30 IDPs HHs for livelihoods activities.

4. Contract with the service providers.

5. Establish complaint and feedback mechinasm CFM

6. Delivered unconditional food vouchers to 100 households for three consecutive months.

7. Vocational training for 10 IDPs female-headed households in sewing and tailoring.

8. Providing in-kind grants of solar-powered sewing machines, batteries, solar panels, inverters, and fabrics to start home-based tailoring businesses.

9.Vocational training for 5 IDPs  male-headed households in solar system installation, power control, and maintenance.

10. Supplying in-kind grants toolkits with equipment and multi-meter devices to meet regional renewable energy demand.

11. Provided 15 IDPs households with livestock kits, including 3 vaccinated sheep (1 male, 2 females), 75 kg of concentrated feed, a barn, and training on sheep rearing (feeding, health management, and breeding) to ensure long-term economic stability.
