Sewing Training – A New Success in Women’s Empowerment in Bajil District – Al Hudaydah Governorate

Within the Integrated Emergency Response Project aimed at enhancing food security, livelihoods, and education for children and their families in Bajil District, Al Hudaydah Governorate, Relief & Development Peer Foundation (RDP) implemented a 20-day sewing training course.

The training was carried out in partnership with the Technical and Vocational Training Office in Al Hudaydah Governorate, and under the supervision of SCMCHA in Al Hudaydah Governorate and Bajil District.

Number of trainees: 8 women
The participants received intensive hands-on training in sewing skills, contributing to strengthening their professional capacities and creating sustainable income-generating opportunities.

In addition, comprehensive in-kind grants were distributed to enable the trainees to launch their own small businesses. The grants included:

  • Sewing machine with full accessories
  • Solar power system
  • A variety of fabrics

This support, funded by the Sign of Hope (SoH), goes beyond the provision of equipment; it represents a genuine investment in women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and improved livelihoods.

We believe that economic empowerment is the cornerstone of stability and building a better future for families and communities.
