Pastry-Making Training – A New Success in Women’s Empowerment in Bajil District, Al Hudaydah Governorate
Within the Integrated Emergency Response Project aimed at enhancing food security, livelihoods, and education for children and their families in Bajil District, Al Hudaydah Governorate, Relief & Development Peer Foundation (RDP) implemented a 20-day training course in bakery production.
The training was carried out in partnership with the Technical and Vocational Training Office in Al Hudaydah Governorate, and under the supervision of SCMCHA in Al Hudaydah Governorate and Bajil District.
A total of 7 women trainees participated in the course, receiving training in bakery skills, contributing to strengthening their professional capacities and creating new income-generating opportunities.
In addition, comprehensive in-kind grants were distributed to enable the trainees to launch their own small businesses. The grants included:
- Gas oven
- Gas cylinder
- Mixer
- All necessary bakery tools (plastic mixing bowls, baking trays, and more)
- Essential start-up materials (flour, sugar, eggs, and others)
This support, funded by Sign of Hope (SoH), goes beyond the provision of equipment, it represents a genuine investment in women’s empowerment, self-reliance, and improved livelihoods.
We believe that economic empowerment is the cornerstone of stability and building a better future for families and communities.
