Life-saving WASH Emergency Response Project to the Most Vulnerable host Communities and Returnees in Al Qafr District of Ibb Governorate

Objective:

The project aims to improve the resilience of the most vulnerable host communities and returnees’ families in Al-Qafr district of Ibb governorate through increasing their access to safe and sustained water and sanitation services and improving hygiene practices.

Major project activities:

  1. Conduct community engagement meeting
  2. Conducted protection mainstreaming training for the project staff RDP
  3. Conducted a pumping test, and a water quality test
  4. Conducted a feasibility study
  5. Conducted the 1st EIA
  6. Held an induction workshop for the project team
  7. Conducted Baseline survey.
  8. Announced two tenders for rehabilitation of water scheme/source and install solar pumping system.
  9. Established CFM.
  10. Rehabilitating one water scheme, and one water source based on the technical feasibility study.
  11. Installing pumping and distribution pipelines and installing water distribution boxes with water meters. Also, rehabilitation of a pumping room.
  12. Rehabilitation of concrete water tank.
  13. Supply and install solar pumping system.
  14. Supply maintenance tools kit to facilitate the project maintenance, operation and pipeline extension to new areas to ensure the sustainability of the water scheme.
