Integrated Emergency response for Food Security, Livelihood and WASH Project in Al-Marawah District of Al Hudayda Governorate, Yemen

Objective:

Improved food security for 110 most vulnerable of the IDPs’ families and livelihoods of 40 IDPs HHs headed by women and children, marginalized groups and people with disabilities have increased access to new source of income and improved life-skills through receiving vocational/on-job trainings and receiving In-kind start-up grants and livestock packages.

In addition to, improved and sustained access to adequate safe Sanitation services and hygiene/ nutritious promotion for 770 (IDPs)

Major project activities:

  1. Community engagement meeting with stakeholders and beneficiaries.
  2. Registration and verification of 110 IDPs HHs for food vouchers distribution.
  3. Registration and verification of 40 HHs for livelihoods activities.
  4. Contract with the service providers.
  5. Establish complaint and feedback mechinasm CFM
  6. Delivered unconditional food vouchers to 110 IDPs HHs for six consecutive months.
  7. Vocational training for 10 IDPs female-headed households in sewing and tailoring, providing in-kind grants of solar-powered sewing machines, batteries, solar panels, inverters, and fabrics to start home-based tailoring businesses.
  8. Vocational training for 10 IDPs male-headed households in motorcycle maintenance, and supplying in-kind grants of motorcycle maintenance toolkits.
  9. Provided 20 IDPs HHs with livestock kits, including 3 vaccinated sheep (1 male, 2 females), 67 kg of concentrated feed, a barn, and training on sheep rearing (feeding, health management, and breeding) to ensure long-term economic stability.
  10. Conducted a training workshop for six community volunteers on community mobilization, hygiene awareness, and improved hygiene practices.
  11. Community volunteers conducted 40 hygiene awareness sessions, reaching 765 individuals, and received monthly transportation cost support.
  12. Constructed 30 latrines for 210 individuals.
  13. Improved community environment by conducting 6 clean-up campaigns.
